How to Measure Your Head's Arc to Know Which ShotShield to Order
Important Note Before Measuring Most people's heads reach nearly full adult size by around age 10, with very little growth after that.
ALWAYS order based on your actual Arc measurement for the best fit.
The Head Arc (Sagittal Arc) is the curved distance over the top of your head from just above the eyebrows to the back the protruding bump at the base of the skull. This measurement ensures a proper front-to-back fit for the ShotShield Impact Cushion.
What You'll Need:
A flexible tape measure (or a piece of string + ruler).
Quick Steps:
Stand straight and look forward.
Place the tape end in the center of your forehead, just above your eyebrows.
Run the tape straight back over the top of your head (keep it centered).
Stop at the most protruding bump on the back of your skull (Where it meets the neck.)
Keep the tape snug but comfortable—follow the curve.
Record the length in inches.
Tips:
If measurement is on the border, decide if you'd prefer a larger or smaller forehead pad.
You can trim up to 1/2" off the neck area if it's a bit long with scissors if needed.
Measure twice to be sure—then pick your size!
***Everyone's head is shaped different, your head shape and strap adjustments will effect how much of the forehead is covered by the ShotShield.***

The ShotShield Impact Cushion product line is a supplemental foam padding accessory for approved wrestling headgear. It provides targeted cushioning only, covering limited areas of the head. Impacts commonly occur outside these areas, and no padding can protect unpadded regions. ShotShield is not designed, intended, or proven to prevent, mitigate, or reduce the risk of concussions, traumatic brain injuries, or any head, brain, neck, or other injuries. No headgear or accessory can eliminate the risk of concussion or serious injury in wrestling.
Concussions may occur from brain motion within the skull, even with additional padding. ShotShield products are designed as a supplemental accessory for use with NFHS- and NCAA-approved headgear. Referees have final discretion on all equipment. Wrestling carries inherent injury risks. Always use proper technique, strengthen the neck, follow NFHS/NCAA rules, and seek immediate medical care for any suspected head impact. By using this site and/or purchasing ShotShield products, you accept these terms. Consult coaches, referees, and medical professionals for equipment and safety guidance.
